The North East and North Cumbria Primary Care Training Hub have engaged with primary care stakeholders across the Integrated Care System and identified a need to develop local resources to promote and embed the new roles available to PCNs.

The roles included in these resources incorporate the NHS England ARRS Scheme, via the GP Contract and other roles across Primary Care, providing an opportunity to develop existing teams in addition to recruiting new staff.

Network Contract DES 2026/27 (including contract specification and PCN requirements and entitlements).

Please note, when considering a role proposed by the PCN, a commissioner may require that the PCN provides information to assure the commissioner that the role: fits with local care pathways/services and does not duplicate existing provision save where the PCN can demonstrate a clear local need for the role and is being reimbursed at a rate that is commensurate with its scope of practice up to a maximum Band 8c.

A PCN must use the mandatory electronic online portal to submit the monthly workforce claim.
